
B I O G R A P H Y
Discovering his passion for acting when, at the age of 17, he played the title role in for a local drama club. He attended the University of Southern California on scholarship, majoring in performing arts. While at USC, Biggs' began teaching at the 32nd Street Magnet School in the LA Unified School District. After finishing his studies at USA, he went on to teach at the Will Geer Theater before landing his first major role as Dr. Marcus Hunter on NBC's "Days of Our Lives."
During his five years on "Days of Our Lives", Biggs' continued to teach. This time developing his own curriculum and bringing it to schools across the country. After "Days", he landed the role of Dr. Stephen Franklin on "Babylon 5" and then went on to play detective Bill Moody on Lifetime's critically acclaimed hit, "Any Day Now" for two seasons. Richard is now in a recurring role on CBS's, "Guiding Light" and Lifetime's medical drama, "Strong Medicine."
Richard's extensive stage work includes "Fanon's People" at the Fountain Theatre, Romeo and Juliet at the Ensemble Theater, as well as "Tempest," "Cymbeline," and "The Taming of the Shrew" at the Will Geer Theater. Most recently he as completed filming a major motion picture, "Ablaze," with Tom Arnold and Amanda Pays.
Richard Biggs passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Lori and two young sons, RJ and Hunter. Richard is also lovely missed by large his family, friend, colleagues and fans throughout the world.
